{"id":13224,"date":"2026-06-25T11:52:29","date_gmt":"2026-06-25T09:52:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wydawnictwo.uew.pl\/for-authors\/ai-ml-policy\/"},"modified":"2026-09-02T13:08:11","modified_gmt":"2026-09-02T11:08:11","slug":"ai-ml-policy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wydawnictwo.uew.pl\/en\/for-authors\/ai-ml-policy\/","title":{"rendered":"AI\/ML Policy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Publishing House of Wroclaw University of Economics and Business permits the responsible and transparent use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) tools in the preparation of scholarly publications.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AI\/ML tools may support authors\u2019 work, but they cannot replace authors\u2019 responsibility for the content of the publication, the accuracy of the data presented, the interpretation of research findings and the work\u2019s compliance with the principles of research integrity.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Permitted Use of AI\/ML<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Authors may use AI\/ML tools in particular for:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>searching for literature, sources and other scholarly information,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>supporting language editing and improving the grammar, style and clarity of the text,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>processing large datasets, generating summaries and identifying outliers,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>conducting research whose subject is AI\/ML tools or their applications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Unacceptable Use of AI\/ML<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following are unacceptable in particular:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>submitting for publication works generated entirely by AI tools,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>using AI to generate significant parts of a publication, especially entire chapters, subsections or substantial fragments of scholarly text,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>using AI tools to create fictitious or unverified sources, footnotes, bibliographies, research data or research findings,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>presenting AI-generated content as the author\u2019s own independent work,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>using AI-based automatic translation to translate entire scholarly publications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Obligation to Disclose the Use of AI\/ML<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If AI\/ML tools have been used during the preparation of a publication, authors are required to inform the Publishing House of this when submitting the work.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The information should specify the scope of use of AI\/ML tools and the manner in which they were applied.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Author\u2019s Responsibility<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Authors bear full responsibility for the content of the publication, regardless of the supporting tools used.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The publication should be an original and independent work by the authors.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Failure to disclose significant use of AI\/ML tools, or using them in a manner inconsistent with this policy, may result in refusal of publication or withdrawal of the publication from the publishing process.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>AI\/ML in the Peer Review Process<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Materials submitted for review are confidential. Reviewers should not enter into AI\/ML tools the content of manuscripts under assessment or other materials obtained as part of the peer review process if this could breach confidentiality, data protection or authors\u2019 intellectual property rights. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In particular, it is unacceptable to submit entire reviewed works or substantial fragments of them to AI\/ML tools in order to generate a review, opinion, publication assessment or proposed editorial decision.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AI\/ML tools may be used only as an aid, provided that this does not lead to disclosure of confidential materials and does not replace the reviewer\u2019s independent scholarly assessment.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reviewers bear full responsibility for the assessment they prepare and must not entrust the peer review process to AI\/ML tools.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Publishing House of Wroclaw
