About the Publishing House

We create scholarly publications that combine high academic quality with modern standards of editing, digital accessibility and scholarly communication.

The Publishing House of Wroclaw University of Economics and Business has been publishing since 1955, supporting the development and dissemination of scholarly achievement in Poland and internationally. Our mission is to publish research findings and the achievements of the academic community in accordance with the principles of research integrity and publishing quality.

We combine a long-standing tradition with a modern approach to scholarly publishing, ensuring broad dissemination, lasting availability and a strong presence in Polish and international scholarly communication.

Publishing Profile

Our publications focus in particular on the following disciplines:

  • economics and finance,
  • management and quality studies,
  • food and nutrition technology.

We publish more than 100 titles each year, including:

  • scholarly monographs,
  • academic textbooks,
  • course books,
  • academic journals.

Publications are issued in both print and electronic formats in the open-access model.

An important part of the Publishing House’s activity is supporting junior researchers through the Student Debuts series, which enables valuable research findings to be published at the beginning of an academic career.

Quality Standards and Publication Ethics

All publications issued by the Publishing House of Wroclaw University of Economics and Business undergo independent academic assessment and peer-review procedures consistent with the adopted publishing standards.

The Publishing House operates in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), with due regard for research integrity, publication ethics and copyright.

In order to ensure persistent identification, publications are assigned DOI identifiers, which support their presence in Polish and international scholarly communication.

Visibility and Presence in Scholarly Communication

The Publishing House of the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business is included in the list of publishers of peer-reviewed scholarly monographs maintained by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The journals published by the Publishing House are included on the list of academic journals and peer-reviewed proceedings of international conferences:

The journals published by the Publishing House are indexed in national and international databases and scholarly information systems, including DOAJ, ERIH Plus, BazEkon, CEEOL and EBSCO, which increases the visibility of published research findings and their presence in national and international scholarly communication.

A Modern Academic Publishing House

Combining many years of experience with a modern approach to scholarly communication, we continually develop solutions that support the accessibility, visibility and dissemination of research findings.

We pay particular attention to open access to knowledge. Digital publications are made available under the open access model, and their accessibility and long-term preservation are supported, among others, by the Lower Silesian Digital Library and Library of Science.

In the publishing process, we use modern tools and editorial standards, ensuring the high quality of publications in both print and electronic form. We also develop solutions that increase the accessibility of scholarly content for a wider audience.

Activities aimed at improving publication quality and developing academic journals have also been supported through participation in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education programmes “Support for Academic Journals” and “Development of Academic Journals”.

We strive to ensure that publications are not only valuable sources of knowledge, but also long-lasting and readily accessible elements of national and international scholarly communication.

Team and Experience

The Publishing House is supported by an experienced editorial team that provides comprehensive organisation of the publishing process – from formal assessment and planning of the peer review process, through copyediting and proofreading, to typesetting, preparation for print and digital publication.

We combine editorial, publishing and technical expertise, ensuring the high scholarly and editorial standard of our publications. We work with authors, academic editors, reviewers and organisational units of the University, ensuring the smooth course of the publishing process at every stage.

Many years of experience and the team’s consistently developed competences enable us to support authors effectively in disseminating research findings and scholarly achievements.

Statutory Basis

The Publishing House of the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business operates on the basis of generally applicable law and the University’s internal normative acts governing the organisation of publishing activity, the publication of scholarly monographs and academic journals, and the financing of publishing activity.
